| The embedded systems designer will focus on firmware and hardware for the control of switching power converters. Some technologies include battery management and solar power processing. Responsibilities: · Design and development of firmware and support hardware for a new product line of switching power converters. · Design firmware and hardware for user interface devices as well as the design of software for computer-based user interfaces. · Support and revisions of firmware in existing product lines. · Design embedded systems with critical timing loops, supervisory loops, and user interface functions simultaneously. · Design firmware and hardware interface to intra-board devices such as ADC, DAC, flash memory, and CAN controllers. · Design off-board, bi-directional communications protocol. · Source code versioning and documentation control. · Design qualification firmware testing. Qualifications · BSEE with at least 4 years experience in microcontroller programming. · Ability to design support circuitry, such as choosing interface ICs and performing or directing PCB layout, is preferred. · Knowledgeable with digital control theory and sampled-data modeling · Experience that is particularly useful includes: · Programming MSP430 and PIC microcontrollers in C · CPLD programming (VHDL or schematic entry) · DSP programming (e.g. TI '28xx family) |
